Big Backpack Event at The Skatium

The multicultural Centre of SWFL is hosting their 25th Annual Big backpack event to provide free backpacks, school supplies, and groceries to Lee County School District students.
The event will be a curbside/drive thru event. Much like a school drop-off or pick-up line, drivers will form a car line. As cars approach the Skatium, they will be asked to pop their trunk so that the backpacks and bags of food may be placed in their trunk.
One backpack per child (ages 5-12) will be given away, while supplies last. In addition, one bag of kid-friendly groceries will also be distributed to each car, while supplies last.
Children must be present to receive a back pack.
Organizers ask that everyone stay in their vehicle at all times as volunteers place items in your trunk and close the trunk before you drive away. This is in an effort to keep students, families and volunteers safe.
