SW Florida Fencing Academy Summer Camps

Mini Fencer's Pirate Camp: June 2nd- 6th
Ages 4-8 / 9am to 12pm / $170
Come join us for some pirate themed fun! This half day camp will consist of learning the basics of fencing through the lense of pirates. Our swashbucklers will embark on a quest to find some hidden treasure that will require all of their new fencing footwork to find. There will also be many challenges after we set sail that will require our crew to work on and improve either hand-eye coordination, strength, and fine motor skills to overcome. There will be sea monsters, unexpected weather, sierens, and lots of daring sword fights. Your pirates may even be forced to walk the plank. Anything could happen on the open seas... so you best stay en guard!

Beginners Fencing Camp: June 16th- 20th
Ages 8+ / 9am to 12pm / $180
This camp is designed to jump start your fencing career. We will go through our entire beginners program during the week and have you fencing like a pro in no time. It will be fast paced but attainable.

If your child has not fenced before and does not have an active USAF membership, you will need to sign them up for one. USAF is the organization we do our insurance through, and a membership with them is required to fence at the academy. It is $29 for the whole year and more details can be found here. We are more than happy to help you sign up for this prior to or on the first day of camp. However, if your child does not have a USAF membership we cannot allow them to fence. They can do footwork and bladework by no actual fencing.

Intermediate/Advanced Fencing Camp: August 4th- 8th
Ages 8+ / 9am to 2pm / $200
This camp is open to friends who have completed a beginners class or camp. Get ready for some good old fashioned hard work. We will be doing conditioning, blade work, footwork, and plenty of fencing. At the start of this camp each fencer will set a goal for themselves to reach by the end of the week. Your coaches main goal will be to get each and everyone of you to your goal. This will be intentionally physically taxing, but that's just because we are so incredibly nice to you the rest of the year. So be prepared to put your big kid fencing pants on and check your complaints at the door. It's go time.

Board Game Camp: August 4th- 8th
Ages 8+ / 2pm to 5pm / $50
You guessed it by the title! Back by popular demand will be Board Game Camp. Immediately following our Intermediate/Advanced Fencing Camp. We will be playing a series of "intensive" long form board games designed to make you think, strategize, and concor. Sound like anything else we happen to do in this building? This camp and it's games will play into and harp on the mental aspects of fencing. Oh, and of course it will be really fun. You know that they say not everything is about winning trophies- sometimes the prize is really just the friends you make along the way.
